Still in MD

I see you Coloradans continue to get thunder and hail storms.  WOW!  At least you're not getting tornados like NE & SD!  We had a great thunderstorm last night during sleeping hours.  Big boomers right over head ... and guess what ... Adjuster Dog is NOT afraid of boomers!  She did raise her head once or twice.  She's a good little doggie!

The MD mini-CAT is over and we haven't received new claims for a few days.  We're scheduled to inspect the remaining properties through Monday ... then who knows?

I managed to get out for a walk one morning so I'll share some of the happenings on the Naval Base.

Today is a paper day trying to catch up on files.  This morning Crawford called to ask we could work in MN ASAP.  Can't till we finish our remaining 6 inspections.  We'll see what else this whacky weather brings along.  Stay safe everyone!

Our Maryland Mini-Cat

Howdy ya'll (people do not talk like that here ... just me).  We keep thinking we'll leave shortly and head to work storms in CO.  But no, nobody is asking us to work in CO (sad).  So this week MD had its own little mini-catastrophe and we're now taking 4-6 new flood claims/day.  This is Phil's dream come true ... no roofs to climb ... just muddy, yucky basements.

It's raining everyday like crazy here.  For the past two days we have returned home in a downpour and I've noticed Sadie staring at me ... just staring.  Strange, I thought, until I looked down and I was squeezing her paw (both days).  Apparently when I'm stressed I squeeze ... she's very patient.  When I released, she went back to sleep.  Her's a good girl.

Adjuster Dog is still loving her job.  After 1.5 years of experience she now knows exactly what to expect regarding inspection times, etc.  She waits while we measure/photograph/listen/talk/listen/listen/listen. Then mama returns to upload photos and take her highness for a walk.  If she plays her cards right, she even gets to eat lunch in the truck.  I know!  What a life!

VA and MD

So ... here we sit in Annapolis, MD having a "paper day".  It's a good day for paperwork cuz it's drizzly outside.  We're on the Naval Base Campground and have been running MD claims from here for a week now.  Reid says its flooding in CO so we need to head home.  Gotta finish up these guys first!

Before we moved to Annapolis we stayed with Mike & Cherry Brown and ran VA claims out of their house.  The pics below are from Mike's favorite Mexican restaurant in Stafford, VA.  We inspected a property there and popped in for lunch.  It was fantastic!

These were taken just outside of Denver on I70 when we left for VA.  We were under a tornado warning, thunderstorm warning, hail warning and were passed by several storm chasers.  I think it was Colorado's first tornado of the season and we got out of town just in time.

We haven't done any cool stuff since we've been here.  Just like SuperStorm Sandy in NJ, we're cleaning up after two other adjusters walked off the job. We ended up with 30 claims so it was worth the trip.  We've had some unhappy campers but all is well now.  We had one claim in DE ... that was a long drive.  We'll probably tour the area a bit when we finish our remaining claims.  That's about it.  What's going on with ya'll?
